Game Pictures
Evansville's second league game in 23 years was just up Hwy 14
to Oregon. The weather was a sharp contrast from last week's season
opener in Evansville. It was also Mother's Day, in which there were
about 5 moms in attendance in Evansville's cheering section.
The blaring statistic of this week's game was that Evansville batters
struck out 16 times. Oregon's Eric Engler struck out 6 of the first
9 Evansville batters. However, the team (and even the fans) agreed
that despite the box score statistics there was visible improvement
over last week.
Evansville's two runs came in the top of the seventh inning when
Jason Schultz and Nic Larson were on base due to walks; Ben Kraus
hit a clutch 2-out double that scored both runners.
This week the Evansville Home Talent Team would like to recognize
their Diamond sponsors: R.A. Heating & Air Conditioning, The
Baumberger Shop, and Double D Builders. Next week will be the Gold
sponsors. A complete list of sponsors is listed on the team's website
at www.evansville.hometalent.org.
Evansville's next two games are on the road. The scrimmage game
scheduled Thursday, May 12 at Monona has postponed to be scheduled
at a later date. Instead, Evansville will scrimmage at New Glarus
Thursday, May 12 starting at 7:00 pm.
The next league game is Sunday, May 15 at Orfordville starting
at 1:00 pm. This should be an exciting game because Evansville has
three players that played for Orfordville last year (Brookes Baumberger,
Nick Manion, Tim Legler). For the latest schedule and results please
visit the team's website.
