On Sunday, Evansville Home Talent Team lost to Whitewater 2-0 in a Southeast Section Home Talent League game. In the first inning, Evansville's starting pitcher, Wade Janes, recorded two outs with only three pitches. Poised for a quick three-up-three-down inning, but on the fifth pitch of the game Whitewater's Mike Hill hit a home run over the left center fence that gave Whitewater an early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom half of the first inning, Evansville needed to answer, but Whitewater's starting pitcher, Norm Massel, struck out the side. For the complete game, Massel dominated Evansville's hitters by striking out 11, scattering 5 hits and did not walk a single batter.

With the score 2-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Evansville threatened to score. With one out in the inning, Nic Larson and Jon Frey had back to back singles, but the next two Evansville batters both hit fly outs to end the game.
