On Sunday, Evansville Home Talent Team lost to Cambridge 14-4 in a Southeast Section Home Talent League game. Coming into the game both teams had an even record of 1-9. Evansville's first year's team had high hopes of pulling out a victory; however, Cambridge had the same thing in mind. Cambridge was able to knockout 16 hits in six half innings. Evansville was unable to match Cambridge's hitting.

Evansville scored three times in the forth inning. Jason Schultz drew a lead off walk and stole second base. Brookes Baumberger hit Schultz in with a base hit. Baumberger advanced to third on a double by Jasen Koebler. Both runners scored on a single by Wade Janes.

In the fifth inning, Jeremy Rasmussen led off the inning with a walk, and then stole second base. Rasmussen would score on a 2-out base hit by Jerod Stiendl.

In the sixth inning Evansville had a great chance to score. The first two batters of the inning walked, and then Garrett Lindemann put down a sac bunt to advance the runners to third and second with only one out. Next batter, Ryan Lindemann, hit a line shot right at the third baseman, who caught the ball and stepped on third to double-up the runner. Three outs, no runs scored.

This week's Thursday Night League game on July 7th in Evansville is against Wiota, last year's league champions. Game time is 6:30 pm. Evansville's Thursday Night League record improved to 2-5 after beating Blanchardville 13-7 June 30th. Evansville had 12 hits in the game.

On Monday, July 4th, Evansville's game against Oregon at the Lake Leota upper diamond was postponed to due to wet field conditions. The team looks forward to playing at next year's festival.
