On Sunday, the Evansville Home Talent Team lost to Deerfield 6-3 in a Southeast Section Home Talent League game. Only two games remain in Evansville's first season since 1981. They are Sunday, July 31st against Orfordville (Appreciation Day) and July 4th's make-up game on Sunday, August 7th against Oregon. Both games start at 1:00 pm at the High School field.

Evansville score in the fourth inning when Brookes Baumberger lead off with a double followed by a base hit by Nic Larson. With Baumberger on third Nick Manion hit a ground out to the shortstop to score Baumberger. After the shortstop's throw to first for the first out, Deerfield was able to throw out Larson attempting to reach third from second on the play. Ryan Lindemann had the third hit in the inning. With three hits in the inning Evansville was only able to score one run.

Evansville scored a run in the fifth inning. Jeremy Rasmussen led off the inning with a walk followed by Jon Frey and Jerod Steindl each getting hit by a pitch. Rasmussen score on a past ball. With the bases loaded and one out Evansville only scored one run in the inning. Some timely hitting is needed in these situations.

Evansville's last run of the game came in the top of the ninth inning. Down to Evansville's last out Brent Cashore hit a base hit, followed by another base hit by Steindl and a walk to Baumberger. Now with the bases loaded, Cashore scored on a throwing error by the catcher back to the pitcher. Evansville ended the game with a fly out to right field.
