The Jays took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when with one out Nick Manion singled and was followed by two walks from Jason Schultz and Jeremy Rasmussen. With the bases loaded, next batter Ryan Lindemann (just married) grounded out to the right side of the infield to score Manion. That was the last time the Jays led in the game. In the bottom of the second inning Oregon batted through the order and scored four runs.

In the top of the fifth inning with one out, Jon Frey walked and was followed by a pair of singles from Brent Cashore and Casey Nelson. Frey scored on Nelson's single. Score Evansville 2 Oregon 5.

Evansville's last run came in the top of the ninth when Frey led off the inning by reaching on an error. Cashore then walked who was later forced out at second base on Nelson's fielder's choice ground ball. Next batter Jerod Steindl hit a come-backer to the pitcher, and Frey was able to score when the ball was thrown to first to force out Steindl. Final score Evansville 3 Oregon 8.
